Purpose
Teagasc is Ireland’s national agriculture and food development authority, providing research, advisory support and education to farmers across the country. ABP collaborates closely with Teagasc to strengthen the future of the beef sector and build a more resilient, productive and sustainable farming industry.
Action
ABP and Teagasc work together across many different programmes. Through the Beef Research Group, ABP contributes insights and helps guide the direction of future research.
ABP also provides funding and support to advance sustainability and efficiency on Irish farms through the Future Beef and Signpost Programme.
Furthermore, ABP gives Teagasc factory-specific data to assist researchers in generating evidence-based findings. Our joint knowledge transfer events ensure the latest research and best practices are communicated directly to farmers.
Impact
Together, ABP and Teagasc are working to improve the productivity and long-term sustainability of the Irish beef sector. Farmers benefit from access to cutting-edge research, practical demonstrations and tailored advice informed by ABP’s data and Teagasc’s scientific expertise.
Ultimately, the collaboration is enabling farms to adopt more efficient practices, reduce emissions and build stronger, future-proofed systems.
