Purpose
Few events showcase the vibrancy, heritage and future of rural communities quite like the Royal Highland Show. ABP UK’s long standing support for, and attendance at, the Show is a core expression of our commitment to those communities.
Action
ABP’s long-standing presence at the Royal Highland Show focuses on celebrating the farming community, while also showcasing our dedication to responsible, sustainable and forward looking food production.
Across the showgrounds, ABP teams engage with farmers, producers and students to discuss the latest developments in sustainable beef production. For many of our farming partners, the Show is a valued annual touchpoint – an opportunity to connect with familiar faces, share progress and explore how ABP can continue supporting their businesses.
The Show is also an important platform for education. ABP colleagues participate in discussions, demonstrations and conversations with young people, to highlight the career opportunities in agriculture, food science and animal health.
Alongside community engagement, ABP uses the Show to celebrate agricultural excellence. We are proud to support livestock classes and champion farmers who achieve outstanding results in breeding, welfare and stockmanship.
Impact
ABP UK’s annual participation in the Royal Highland Show delivers meaningful benefits for communities, partners and the wider agricultural sector. For farmers, the Show represents a moment of recognition – an opportunity to celebrate craftsmanship, share learning and engage with the companies and organisations that support their livelihoods.
On a wider community level, ABP helps build public understanding of where food comes from and the care involved in production by engaging directly with visitors, families and students. These conversations help build trust in the food system.
The Show also supports local economies and the vitality of rural Scotland. Through our attendance and support, ABP contributes to an event that generates millions of pounds in value for regional communities and supports thousands of jobs.
