ABP was pleased to take part in the first Newry Chamber Sustainability Conference and Expo at the Canal Court Hotel, where our Environmental and Sustainability Manager, Declan Gaughan, delivered the keynote address.
The event brought together businesses and stakeholders from across the region to focus on environmental challenges and opportunities for local growth.
Declan outlined our operations across beef and lamb, pet food, proteins and renewables through Olleco. In Northern Ireland, we work with thousands of farmers through our sites in Newry, Lurgan and Dungannon, supplying beef and lamb to customers in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
He highlighted the progress we are making on sustainability, including our science-based climate targets, reducing single-use plastics and achieving our energy reduction targets ahead of plan.
He also spoke about investment in water management at our Newry site, which has been shortlisted in the Business in the Community NI Responsible Business Awards following collaboration with NI Water.
