Purpose
The National Ploughing Championships is Ireland’s largest outdoor agricultural event. It presents an important opportunity for ABP to connect with farmers, engage with young people and showcase our sustainability and farming initiatives.
Action
Attracting more than 180,000 visitors annually, the National Ploughing Championships provide a dynamic platform for ABP teams to meet suppliers and discuss developments across farming. There, we showcase our Advantage Beef Programme, Young Farmer Academy and other initiatives.
ABP also supports the Certified Irish Angus Schools Competition at the Ploughing, welcoming the five finalist school groups to the stand for the three days. These students receive their Angus calves at the event, which they will rear over the following 14 months as part of the competition.
Impact
By engaging directly with suppliers at the Championships, ABP promotes knowledge sharing and showcases the sustainability initiatives shaping the future of Irish agriculture.
Our involvement in the Schools Competition further supports youth development and ensures continued interest and capability within the beef sector.
