Purpose
FoodCloud is a charity dedicated to redistributing surplus food to communities in need. ABP’s partnership with the organisation enables us to divert our surplus food to where it is most needed, addressing both environmental and social challenges.
Action
ABP’s surplus products are redistributed to community groups, food banks and charitable organisations through the FoodCloud programme.
Up to 600 community groups per year are expected to benefit from the partnership, which is projected to save more than 457 tonnes of CO₂e over a three-year period through reduced waste and more efficient resource use.
ABP colleagues also actively volunteer at FoodCloud harvests, community kitchens and redistribution hubs, strengthening our connection with local communities.
Impact
The collaboration is helping to reduce food waste, lower emissions and support thousands of people across Ireland. The volunteer efforts of ABP colleagues enhance the programme’s reach and reinforce our commitment to social responsibility. Together, these actions contribute to a more resilient, inclusive and sustainable food ecosystem.
