Purpose
The Advantage Young Farmer Academy was created to support the next generation of Irish beef farmers. Given only 4.3% of Irish farm holders are under the age of 35, the programme aims to attract and empower young people by providing financial, educational and practical support.
Action
Our national Academy offers young farmers a structured five-year programme, including calf purchase and finance options, interim payments to support cashflow, and a guaranteed minimum beef price to provide income security.
Participants also receive ongoing advice and farm support tailored to their development needs, alongside access to reduced input costs, to help plan for their future.
