ABP NI were pleased to welcome members of the Guild of Agricultural Journalists Northern Ireland (NI) to the farm of James and Rachel Davison as part of their Annual General Meeting.
The visit gave us a chance to showcase our dairy to beef model and how collaboration across the supply chain delivers for farmers, processors, retailers and consumers.
James and Rachel run a thriving and innovative business, rearing 2,500 calves each year for ABP Livestock alongside their broiler, sheep and beef enterprises. Since joining our calf rearing programme in 2020, they have grown significantly through investment in housing, animal health and management systems.
Guests also heard about James’s involvement in our PRISM 2030 programme and how practical, data led changes are helping to reduce environmental impact on farm.
We were also delighted to highlight their recent success as winners of the Royal Countryside Fund Family Farm Award at the M&S Select Farm Awards at this year’s Balmoral Show.
