ABP Poland Trial Farm

Purpose
Our affiliate, ABP Poland, created a Trial Farm to demonstrate the benefits of regenerative farming. The site offers a real-life example of how regenerative practices can strengthen the economic and environmental sustainability of Polish beef production. The goal was to create a commercially viable model that improves soil health, enhances biodiversity and supports the journey to lower-carbon and nature-positive farming.

Action
Working in partnership with ABP Poland, the farm is operated by the Piepżczyk family, who have managed the land since 1950. The family runs a herd of around 100 milking animals and finishes approximately 50 bulls each year.
Working in partnership with ABP, the farm is integrating regenerative principles into its day-to-day operations, including improvements in animal breeding, nutrition, crop diversity, soil health, animal welfare and farmer education.
By comparing key outcomes such as age at slaughter and carcass weights with the ABP Demonstration Farm in Ireland, the team in our affiliate in Poland is able to identify which regenerative practices deliver the strongest gains in productivity, emissions reduction and land stewardship.

Impact
Early results show regenerative measures on the farm have the potential to improve growth performance, carcass quality and efficiency metrics when compared with conventional systems. These insights help strengthen understanding of how regenerative farming can support both environmental outcomes and farm profitability.
